It's simple, most people in Lavar Ball's position that aren't as outspoken as him are trying to maintain control over these kids. From a business perspective, the fruits of his labor haven't even started paying off. After one of his sons pops off in the league, they still need to cut him in for him to be successful.

You can tell by the way he acts that he would be devastated if his kids cut him out of that check, and that spotlight.

I guess it worked but terrible way to pick a wife. She could still have passed on recessive genes from dwarfism despite being 6-1. A different 5-5 broad might have given him taller kids. Height is also influenced by nutrition and other random factors, hormone secretion, environmental factors,etc. Some kids outgrow both their parents, some tall parents have average height kids. You cant pick a wife and call it like that....but hey,it worked though.
