Just like black people can run the gamut from Stephen curry to Draymond green, it's thr same with Egyptians. Some of them were darker and some were more light skinned. They're very clear about how they chose to depict themselves. They painted kushytes(modern day Sudanese) with very dark paint because south Sudanese people tend to be highly melaneated.

They paint themselves more of a lighter tone but still unambiguously dark brown.
