You're conflating two different things. Abernathy talked about affairs. The shyt the FBI claimed was much worse. No one in King's circles nor anyone else outside the FBI has produced any evidence whatsoever or even rumors that King was ever engaged in the shyt the FBI agents claims.

No actually I'm not. My point was who would ever know if what the FBI was based in truth or not. They were out to get him so there is no telling. My point is there was actual truth to allegations that would have likely "knocked MLK from the mountain" which is the title of this thread. Those allegations being one of rampant infidelity. And yes I am a little surprised the FBI didn't make those truths public. My point is also that those things are human flaws and should not affect the legacy of one of the greatest men to ever exist.

I've read Corretta's autobiography and she said the King infidelity was a bunch of crap. Abernathy has been salty since he was ousted from the head of the SCLC in the 70s. Putting that crap in his book was to generate sales and wasn't even in the first and second drafts of his book.
