I'm not African-American. I'm quick to correct anyone that would say that I am. But saying you aren't black is something entirely different. Jamaicans, Haitians etc embrace their African heritage. Dominicans don't. In fact they look down on it.

but there is no convincing some people if you think all Dominicans are racist and deny there ancestry then hey do you.

Not all, but most. Even if they admit they have it, they look down on it. Tell me that's a lie.

I grew up with Dominicans, I have family members that are Dominican. They have a reputation for being c00ns for a reason. Its not some fairy tail. Its reality.

I dont want to play devils advocate for anybody but you have to understand these people are comparable to AA who get blond wigs and do other things to try and portray a white imagine ( lets not forget light skin vs dark skin) and yes ok fine if asked if there black they will say yes but thats because 9/10 they have no other choice they cant deny there blackness

what happens the moment you come across a half white/ half black, or a person who THINKS they have bit of native american blood in them but they asses look like Wesley snipes? They start denying they blackness they start talkin bout "um yea am half German, half Cherokee and am from Louisiana" and tell me am lying , for every Dominican that deny s there blackness i can find a mixed African american that does.

Not trying to throw nothing off , i tried to stay on point , i pointed out in one of my earlier post that the relationship between Haitians and Dominicans is much more complex than denying African roots( because that is what the video in the first post is about)

then i went out to point out the fact there are as many self hating African Americans as there are Dominicans , if we want to play that game

then i tried to help homeboy understand why dark skinned people outside the U.S try to (ignorantly) distance themselves from AA



what kills me even more is that half the people dropping there opinion in here have also in the same breath said, they have had little to no interaction with Dominicans, the other half started off with "i once dated a Dominican girl who...."

which leads me to believe there basing there facts on youtube videos , second hand account and vague experiences

Thats the same way i feel, that's the same way most Dominicans feels which is the point i have been trying to make for 15 pages now , but you wont see that video when these topics come up , you will see the same documentaries about the same Dominicans who lives on the border of dr/Haiti
