With my salary I'm going from paying 28 percent to 22-24 percent.
Or am I wrong?
I think taxes gonna be lower until until 2022-2024 then we all gonna get screwed

That's how much in taxes u would owe for the year. Subtract that from what u paid in federal taxes thoughout the year on your W2s and that tells u what your refund should be

So someone making 70K starts at a higher bracket
So basically if you're on the tail end of those new brackets you're getting rammed

Even if you made 160k/yr, that 4% cut isn't getting you $800/Mo. And taxes are not flat.

Taxes don't work that way. Everyone gets taxed the same amount at every tax bracket.
Ignoring deductions.. So let's say you're getting taxed at 20% from 30-50k, and 25% from 51-70K and you're pulling in 65k/yr.. the only income that gets taxed at 25% is the income from 51-65k... from 30-50k you're still getting taxed 20% like everyone else that makes 50k or less.

My checks, based on the chart, will be a little bigger.
I forgot to account for the standard deduction though.
But even still, it's looking like checks will be bigger for me.

...you should do research on allowances and adjust them to maximize your checks

i bet most people on here are at 0, most people i know at my job are. you need to change your checks from '0' to '1', so you get bigger checks all year and a smaller 'return'.
its like my dad says, theres nothing heroic about getting a tax return
you're loaning the government your money all year at 0%
I don't know I just assume taxes are taken out of every check I make regardless only reason I get money back at the end is because it's my money. it's rightfully mine. I don't exempt any of my checks or anything like that.
We're getting taxed lower but congrats, deductions and essential government services are gone.
