Dominicans were not there like that for the genesis of hip-hop like Puerto Ricans were. Puerto Ricans were there in the South Bronx when hip hop began and there migration to NY coincides with the Great Migration out the South.
With that being said thread is misinformed. A lot of the current popping young NY rappers like Kay Flock, DThang, DD Osama, Ice Spice, Stunna Gambino are Dominican. There’s also Cardi B and historically rappers like JR Writer, AZ, Fabolous, Juju.
