It's crazy how white people and a lot of Black people think Black American/African-American -- simply means skin color and race.
Black American/African-American is -- well was an ethnicity -- for Black people who were/are descendants of the enslaved -- enslaved in colonial era and antebellum era U.S.
Everyone gets to tell us who is Black American/AA --- and it's not cool. We know who we are!
Just cause your family immigrated to America -- and/or you are seen as Black American/AA -- doesn't make you that -- in terms of ethnicity.
Yeah, she can be seen as Black -- but she is not AA/ADOS -- and does not represent us -- and can not speak for us -- and is not apart of us.
Going to an HBCU doesn't make you one of us. She is Indian-Jamaican American -- and that's OK.
