do you know how much land we have that's not being utilized? I can think of some ol I dont know, Wyoming, Idaho, Dakotas, Nevada. We choose to live on top of each other, when in actuality we're no where near max capacity. we could actually triple the size of our population and be alright land wise. It's energy that is an issue. We use lots of it.

a lot of that land is arid and/or very mountainous

of course, but that does't mean all, in fact the mountains are the reason we choose those areas as to provide water to the farmland.

Much like machu pichu, the point remains we have room for both farming and living, even in mountain areas if need be (and it's not remotely close to that yet.)

that's what's up. I know some folks that do that in San Fran too. :obama:

but yea I'm talking about mass production. I just find it funny people are talking about no space. I take it nikkas have not driven across the U.S, because if you have, you'd know there's a whole fukking lot of nothing. might wanna take a look at a map, I don't think we even populate 10% of the country yet (7%). LOL. The vast majority of it is farming, and the other half is wasteland like Nevada, New Mexico and Utah where we conduct tests and it's pretty much no mans land...those types of areas technically should be where our burial is.

But to say we need to resort to cremation because it takes up space is comedic. It's like lying in your bed and saying you don't have enough space as if you don't have an entire house.

the whole world's population could live in Texas and have the same population density of NYC.

this is a fact.

if everyone on earth stood shoulder to shoulder, chest to back...we could all fit in Los Angeles.

this is a fact.

population control is not what is needed.
resource management is what is needed.

who said this HAS to be about government :childplease:

this should be something that society comes to agree on as a whole

op said there should be laws regarding cremation being mandatory..thats government intervening right? and funeral processions are based on religious and cultural beliefs..not everyone has the same beliefs..unless you want to impose yours on others..:wtf:

it's not like people just haven't got around to populating those areas yet. it's a very inhospitable place to try to live

Why not just donate ur body to science. Then you have ZERO costs to ur family for a funeral or cremation.
