Not one. Front to back. Can't do it.

The great albums that we all talk about (e.g. Criminal Minded, Great Adventures, Paid in Full, Straight Outta Compton, etc) all have 1, 2 or 3 blindly brilliant songs where EVERYTHING comes together: perfect beat, perfect flow and perfect rhymes. You've probably heard those songs already because everyone shared them and duped the shyt out of them.

But for the most part, there's stuff that feels straight up dated, out of place and/or 'filler'. Not always in a bad way. The turntablism on Paid in Full is OK at times. The innocent jokey songs like "Super Hoe" on a hardcore album.

This is a big reason why 90s rappers are so revered. They became ALBUM rappers as opposed to vinyl rappers.

Agree/disagree? And is there an 80s album you can play in full or close to full?

Why can't you listen to The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick?

funny enough, I almost posted "well, these albums come closest to full listens" and Great Adventures is one of the top ones.

But yeah, some dated beats/songs. I'm listening to "Let's Get Crazy" right now. Not a terrible song, but not exactly something I'd want to hear more than once.

I completely agree man, I thought it was just me. In fact, music in general from the mid to late 80s is downright fukkin unlistenable to me.:scust:

Early 80s music though.:wow::mjcry:

not trying to diss, but alot of yall cant get with '80s music because its too social.
and then theres others that are social but lack that true feel of hip-hop.

i always say, in order to really GET something, you have to go back to the basics, start from scratch & work your way up. hip-hop is the only genre or art where the majority refuse to do this. thats why we're at where we're at.........NOWHERE. and most of the stuff thats "poppin" today, is less advanced than chit that was going on 40 years ago in the '70s, so its silly to act like youre above the '80s.

as for the '90s praise. the '90s was deeper with talent & variety, but the cream of the crop when it comes to legendary songs & albums - alot of that comes from the '80s. plus alot of '90s rappers were lacking in vital categories. there were more complete package rappers in the '80s. overall, both decades are equals in my book.
