and speaking of religion, I'll never understand to this day how blacks in africa/caribean/united states all were so easily convinced to adopt their oppressor's religion. I'm talking about to this day even.

I blame it on the matriarchy. Women are more likely than men to turn to religion during times of distress/uncertainty. Believe it or not, but African and carribean countries have more of a matriarchy when you compare the culture to Cacs and Asians. A lot of women raising young black boys in the diaspora instilling that love of religion in them.
