thinking it may be time for new controller?

got series S
my controller is disconnecting after some time and wont reconnect back. I have rechargeable batteries in it and the batteries are full
I have followed like youtube videos said. maid sure controller updated. power cycled and turned it back on with it connected to USB

when pressing the power button on the controller nothing happens.
anybody got any ideas on why this happening or fix for it
or new controller needed

edit: and now the controller just randomly decided to connect
