I only upgraded to X because of storage
The X also has a disc drive. I feel like if you want a dedicated Game Pass box and your primary platform is PlayStation or PC maybe a S works but just this Black Friday I got several deals you flat out couldn't get without having a disc drive. That and the storage just makes the Series S not worth the buy.
Even with dd i still buy games off the store, especially on switch
Discs are damn near an inconvenience for me
I buy whatever is cheaper. I know this was on PS5 but I got Madden NFL 22 and NBA 2K22 for $26 each. That was a far better deal than buying either digital. Guardians of the Galaxy for $25. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for $20. Having the disc drive is worth it for when games go on sale. Granted most of those games also went on sale digital but they were all like $10-$20 cheaper buying the disc. Over the life of a console all those savings add up to more than the difference between the Series S and X in price.
