Superman is fukking boring.. yeah its all imagination but the character itself just pushes it too far. He has no flaws and has every power and if he somehow can't get the job done, he gains a new power to save the day -

Goku has weaknesses such as for one he's pretty fukking stupid
but that helps him maintain a positive outlook, a pure heart and all that jazz. He kind of has miraculous things happen when he is in dire situations but its only after getting his ass kicked for a couple episodes - but it builds as well as coincides with his character.
But personalities aside, if things were put in equivalence where both had the same maximums (because lets face it.. Goku prolly got like SSJ20 up his sleeve somewhere down the line and Superman got his ever evolving power nonsense), Goku would win because he knows how to fight. Superman never had to spar, never had to train, never had to do shyt but rely on his powers. Goku earned his stripes and skills brehs.
Edit: Can somebody tell me why the fukk is Superman so dam strong? I mean his people got murked.. a planet full of his own people got kill yet this dude can survive and do shyt on the level of a god. Were his people like regular humans or something?

No one is talking about old Supes we are talking about the newer one. Goku can use Instant Transmission which is light speed but Superman moves around 5x the speed of light. Goku's normal movements are in hypersonic range. Current level Supes survived a supernova which is stronger than anything Goku dish out. Goku at his strongest could probably destroy a planet or two. Plus Goku can barely breathe in space while Supes could take the fight out there anytime. This is the same Supes who fought 10 clones of himself at equal power and won. There's a reason comic heads hate dude. He's to overpowered and broken without exploiting his weakness.Just my opinion based on observation. Just like everyone else's here. He did take out the moon pretty easily though, before even going to Namek or fusing with anyone.Could Superman from the movies one-shot the moon? The difference is consistency. Again, everyone who *wants* Superman to win, focuses only on Silver Age Superman, as though there aren't dozens of other incarnations that would lose to Goku, rather easily. I've already conceded the fact that Silver Age Superman wins this, not sure why you guys are still going on about a supernova and a dude who sneezes out universes when we already agree on that. I'm just waiting for someone on the Superman side to acknowledge that if we talk about any other version of Superman, that Goku takes this.
And Dragonball was one of the most inconsistent mangas ever. In the Namek arc he's lifting 200 tons on each arm and blowing Freeza through mountains and shyt then by the Buu arc he's having trouble lifting 40 tons
This thread isn't as bad as the one where dudes were saying Goku could destroy the whole Marvel Earth
But people have to realize that the comic version of these heroes are way more overpowered than most of these manga/anime people are into. Plus cartoon Superman is weak as shyt which I'm assuming most people are basing this on

The yellow sun gives superman his powers. On krypton which has a red sun all the people were just like humans and did not have super powers.

You didnt even read it, it goes in to detail why Goku would lose. I even explained how instant transmission is useless, not just for how long it takes, Goku has no attack that will kill Superman. How the hell am I moving the goal posts when you aint even on the field

It was just funny to me how first he didn't have instant transmission at all, and then suddenly he had it but it was useless.

Just my opinion based on observation. Just like everyone else's here. He did take out the moon pretty easily though, before even going to Namek or fusing with anyone.

Planet busting is pretty much THE feat that separates the elite tier heroes/characters from the rest of the pack. Literally Superman, Thor, Surfer, Hulk, Glaidiator, most Heralds, etc. ALL have a planet busting level feat in their track record.
Second, there are really only 3 Supermen to concern yourself with...
1. Pre-Crisis Superman, this was the OG broken character that sneezed out galaxies and juggled planets. I don't think anyone is really debating THIS character's power level
2. Post-Crisis Superman, THIS is the Superman most of us all know and love. He's the guy most people think about when they reference Superman. His 3 greatest feats were:
1.) Holding a blackhole in his hand, strength feat(which nearly KO him)
2.) Pushing a galaxy through space, stamina feat (though it took him long)
3.) Flying from Earth to the Sun and Back to earth in under 3 minutes, speed feat
This is probably the guy we are going to be discussing in this thread.
3. NuDC Superman. DC has recently restarted their universe so all their characters are somewhat different than what we knew prior. Most of the old classics are the same in personality, but some of their pasts and power levels are undefined at this moment. The New Superman's power levels haven't been defined clearly yet, but his best strenght feat THUS far is bench pressing
Honestly, I've said it a thousand times, this fight is a toss up. BOTH of these guys do planet busting attacks, both can take planet busting level damage and both move at light speeds.
Think about it like this, they ALL have 10 stats in EVERYTHING, except Goku is an 5 in strength and a 10 in fighting, whereas Superman is an 5 in fighting but a 10 in strength.
What do you value in a fight more, skill or strength?
