It really is a shame they felt they had to shoehorn in the wedding plot with the household names. That entire movie should have been in the 80s/early 90s, a period piece coming of age story, instead of period piece slash romantic comedy. I love The Wood, but I gotta admit that when I watch it, my finger is always itching to fast-forward half of the movie. So I can't really say it stacks up there with some of my fav movies of all time. It def would have had it been an entire movie of young Mike, Ro, and Slim experiencing the 80s 90s and chasing tail. But it probably wouldn't have gotten funding without Taye Diggs, Omar Epps, and them attached so it could sit in the same aisle as The Best Man and those kinds of movies.
