$115k*

The womens league over seas may generate more money so thats why they pay more? Do you factually know they make more than $100k a year there ? If thats the case so the average player is making $200k a year for their dream job? Wheres the complaint ?

You cant pay someone more of something you arent making

Im not for the owners. I think the owners in NBA and NFL are gouging players, mostly NFL owners. But I also think the losses of WNBA are under reported and they are doing worse than advertised and this is a saving grace for these women and they seem too stupid to understand the blessing and I think theyll fold the league unless they find outside funding

from a business owner stand point this is one of the dumbest public cases of stupidity ive seen from an employee union in my life
Why would you say the losses of the WNBA are under reported yet any time an NBA team loses a nickel people on here say they’re lying and cooking their books?

For all you know, women’s leagues don’t generate shyt overseas. Hell, some men’s leagues don’t and teams wind up folding. Diana Taurasi can make $500K in Russia. Maya Moore makes $500K in China. Jimmer Fredette by comparison makes $2 mil and he’s the Curry of China. Ownership depending on the team ain’t worried about financial losses because for some, their bottom line isn’t affected by women’s basketball.

Playing ball 11 months out of the year with no real rest ain’t as glamorous as you think it is, regardless of salary. It’s like entertainers on cruise ships. It looks fly as fukk til you realize what a toll that schedule takes on you. That shyt makes you hate hoops.

I know as much as you know, which we both know nothing. We'll wait until CBA negotiations if they open the books.

?? what are you talking about?? The issue was that the NBA (and the NFL) wouldn't open their books which is why people suspect them of cooking the numbers they were reporting. When the next step was for them to legally open their books to show total revenue and profit teams generate, they quickly agreed to majority of the player unions negotiations

 I covered the lockout. It didn’t end nearly as quickly as you’re claiming it did. In some cases it wasn’t a dispute as to whether teams lost money; it was about how much they lost. If the players union didn’t have so much infighting they woulda tried to get more out of the agreement. The fact is fans can’t believe that a product where they shell out hundreds of dollars on tickets, food, parking and see billions spent on players can lose money. They can when you see half empty arenas, cheap everything and low wages. They can work on all those things; wages are now at the forefront.

Never said the lockout was a quick process. It was a lot that lead up to that.

None of us know if any team truly lost money because they never opened the books up...

Some of em did. Those teams you couldn’t possibly be surprised that they lost money. One of them was from the chairman of the NBA board of governors

As much I clown em for not understanding supply and demand, I applaud em for actually fighting for their cause

They do hold some leverage. I doubt the NBA wants to be in the news about allowing the female NBA league to close down.

Why not? They were in the news for shutting down the other, arguably better women's basketball league...
