LA Galaxy estimated worth is $315 million, the average worth of a Major League Soccer (america's soccer league) is $185 million
in 2017, LA Galaxy, 1 team alone, brought in $63 million of revenue
in 2017 the WBNA, all 12 teams combined, brought in $51 million of revenue. $25 million of that from ESPN broadcasting deal. $26.5 million in ticket sales.
WNBA media deal is mostly through ESPN for $25 million per year
MLS media deal is worth $4 BILLION

I definitely think there needs to be some sort of raise...$40k salaries are laughable. That said, the popularity of that league will never take off until an appreciation for women’s bball is socialized amongst boys and girls at much younger age. Not sure that will ever happen, but that’s the only thing that will help it.
MLS is still flying commerical and that league started from scratch and at the bottom but has put in 10x the work into becoming bigger, better, and adding more quality to itself every season. I'm all for people banding together and fighting for better pay and all but this league was handed a nice budget, NBA arenas, tv deals, marketing, a backbone from day one. The NBA used to have one playoff game air on tape delay at midnight once or twice a week. The WNBA never went through anything like that.Who's advising them? Harvey Birdman?
I do think they shouldn't be flying commercial and other shyt like that because that is ridiculous. But don't overplay your hand.
The other women's basketball league, The ABL was much more grassroots, organic, from scratch, and had better pay. That was the true women's league if you ask me.What's happening now in the WNBA is what they signed up for. Minimal time and money spent in actually reaching out and connecting with women to gain a solid fanbase but instead riding the wave of NBA money and support.
