Season 2 was a brave ass move for them to pull off. It would be like if the Sopranos did a storyline on Master Genius, not just an episode.

HBO actually canceled The Wire after season 3, David Simon literally had to beg with the execs to give him another season....

That's why there was a 2 year gap between S3 & 4....

When they did green light another season, son went in the hyperbolic chamber & dropped a nuke on em with season 4

Recently did a rewatch. I always have liked S4 the best, but my god is it depressing.

I always thought the stories of the 4 kids was masterfully done, so well acted and written. Often times, kids are the weakest parts of TV shows, but it was very strong here.
