Right. Online nikkas don't extend any grace to anyone that fukk up and put their foot in their mouth - even if they apologize. nikkas can't cry now about a tactic that they've weaponized and try to frame it as white folks got their foot on Willard's neck. shyt is insulting like nikkas don't know how to behave and should be graded on a curve.

AH look, another alt right, red pill eating, neckbead with a chip on his shoulder.

"When it is the other way around, they're unforgiving :sadbron:"

Shut the fukk up and fukk off to the comment section of some YouTuber you idolise. You big p*ssy.

Do they? I don't want to take it there... because this is obviously nothing like the violence administered against black men everyday, but it feels eerily analogous. That imagery, bruh. It's tough to watch...especially since Chris knew he couldn't hit back. There's probably someone here who could better articulate what I'm trying to say. I can't see what occurred ever happening to a white man and everyone cheering the assailant on 10 minutes later.

You're right to call out the hypocrisy. Those people have been kicked out the Academy though. I think Ava DuVernay, who sits on the board, hinted that Will won't lose his Oscar

in my opinion, arguably the most dangerous user of systemic oppression against a black man is another black man.

To wantonly harm your own only because you know your enemy won’t do anything to stop it is twisted. I think that type of person would do bad to a cac if given that level of impunity, but to follow the guidelines of your enemy in order to get away with certain behavior is a heartbreaking lack of identity.

That goes for Chris too but to a lesser extent. For example, the methods of Malcolm resonate with me more than Martin. But i wouldn’t publicly ridicule Martin’s efforts like Chris did to Will and Jada for protesting the Oscar’s.

I really hope Will and em didn’t hold Chris’s classless moment against him. I wasn’t even feeling Jada’s Oscar so white movement. But I do look at Rock a way for saying what he said.

After that, Rock should have avoided them. That’s where I think you can use the word “script” in more of the philosophical/practical sense.

Like the script we use to eat at a restaurant.

Hollywood did invent reality tv. Script isn’t word for word, but it’s set up so certain things can play out.

Did the writers expect Will to slap Rock? I don’t think so. But they were trying to bruise egos.

Chris should have read the room and not insult someone he already had beef with. I really wonder if it was him freestyling or if it came from the writing staff.

But whatever Chris did has to take a backseat to those celebrating Will’s inexcusable actions.

Would Black twitter laugh if this happened to two cacs? Easily. But we are not them. Our situation is sensitive in different ways and it’s important for us to observe our cultural differences in polite society where the actions of our most accomplished can affect our optics in daily life.

Rock finished presenting like a professional Sunday despite what happened.

He started his tour as scheduled before the incident.

Professionally, he didn’t skip a beat.

That’s out and about. He’s never been a social media whore.

Do you want him to wear a body cam?
You made an incorrect statement and i corrected you:yeshrug:

Tony Rock always seemed like a cornball, but he should defend fam. But is he really about that?
About what? Standing with his family? Tony Rock might take a L in a fight with Will but I think if he sees Will he’s willing to test that theory

About what u just said. Would he be willing to step to Will? U may be right. But I doubt he'll ever be in the same room as Will.

The Oscar so white shyt was Jada Pinket trying to use and mobilize rank and file nikkas to do her bidding because her man didn't get nominated that particular year. It was see through, cynical, and disingenuous from the start. It's one example of elite negros using black trauma to further their own goals and hustle shyt from white people. If her nikka had gotten nominated that year you wouldn't hear shyt about how white the Oscars was.

Your statement about the most dangerous users of systemic oppression is black people against black people is truthful and profound.

Most Americans blame Chris Rock over viral Will Smith slap: poll
By
Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Most Americans think Chris Rock had it coming.

More than half of those surveyed in a new poll said the comedian was in the wrong when he joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head at the Oscars — and do not fault actor Will Smith for smacking him on camera.

The fact that its about even taking into consideration that people now have information that Jada had health issues, something Chris didnt know, shows Will pulled a bytch move IMO.

People thinking alopecia is like cancer or something is making Chris look bad.

fukk out of here. This is one incident in Will smith 30 year career while y’all over look dozens of incidents(and bad behavior) by others. Y’all always bringing up Pac to shyt on Will …. So fair game.
Nah, you fukk outta here. I'm not a Pac Stan. The fact it took 30+ years of fame and 53 years of life to do some shyt 24 year old Pac was good for on a random Wednesday is my point.

naw, rock was just given a booster to his career. He’s going to milk this for all it’s worth while will begs for forgiveness. This about to get even worse once his devil wife uses her podcast to humiliate him even more. If u didn’t think he could fall even more, just wait

I feel sorry for will, I hope he opens his eyes soon

I agree with you about the red table talk. They need to cancel that expeditiously! There's no scenario where that turns out good.

Denzel Washington Weighs In on Will Smith Slap: ‘For Whatever Reason the Devil Got Ahold of Him’

Will Smith after Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, Denzel Washington has now spoken publicly about what happened at last Sunday’s awards show.

Washington attended author and bishop T.D. Jakes’ leadership summit on Saturday morning for a discussion about his career and faith when Jakes asked him about what happened between Smith and Rock at the Oscars.

“Well, there’s a saying, ‘When the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something wrong.’ The devil goes, ‘Oh no, leave him alone, he’s my favorite.’ Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because he’s trying to do something right. And for whatever reason the devil got ahold of him that night,” Washington told Jakes on stage.

Washington was seen speaking to Smith, along with Tyler Perry and Smith’s publicist, during the commercial breaks at the Oscars after Smith slapped Rock for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. During his acceptance speech for best actor, Smith thanked Washington and said that Washington told him, “At your highest moment, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you.”

“Fortunately there were people there. Not just me, but others, Tyler Perry, came immediately right over there with me. [Said] some prayers. I don’t wanna say what we talked about, but there but for the grace of God go any of us. Who are we to condemn? I don’t know all the ins and outs of the situation, but I know the only solution was prayer, the way I see it,” Washington said on Saturday.

Smith’s public fallout over the slap has turned into the biggest crisis of his career. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences launched an investigation into the assault this week, and on Friday Smith resigned from the Academy’s membership.

“The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home,” Smith said in a statement Friday. “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.”

At his first stand-up show since the slap, Rock spoke about the incident in Boston, saying that he’s still “processing what happened” and will fully discuss it at a later time.

“I don’t have a bunch of shyt about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend,” Rock said at Wednesday night’s show. “I’m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I’ll talk about that shyt. And it will be serious and funny.”

Netlfix backing away and bad boys 4 is on hold now…lol

The week before the Oscar ceremony, director David Leitch — in a stroke of unintentional good timing — withdrew as the director of a planned Netflixmovie Fast and Loose, starring Will Smith. Instead, he moved onto Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling, for Universal, which is supposed to start production in August.

A source says Netflix was competing with Universal to be the next project for Leitch, but Universal pulled ahead. According to sources, Netflix put out an urgent call for another director to take over a project featuring the star who was heavily favored to win best actor at the Oscars. But soon after Smith’s attack on Chris Rock on the Oscars stage, Netflix quietly moved the project to the back burner.

Fast and Loose was to tell the story of a crime boss who loses his memory after an attack. Piecing together clues, he discovers that he has led a double identity as a wealthy kingpin and a broke CIA agent. It appears that Netflix was understandably wary of moving forward. It is unclear whether it will try to make the project with another star and director.

Smith now has Apple+’s slave escape drama Emancipation in post-production. The streamer had planned a 2022 debut but has not dated its release. Apple declined to comment. Otherwise, Bad Boys 4 at Sony had been in active development — Smith received 40 pages of the script prior to the Oscars — but will now pause, a source said. A few other projects in pre-production are likely to do the same. Netflix did not respond to requests for comment.

In his April 1 statement resigning from the Academy, Smith said, “Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.”
