I could see her making him snap in the earlier stages sometime between the end of the honeymoon phase and being seasoned, but not after knowing her ways for so long, any GMB breh should be able to relate. Why is your friend making that joke to your wife? I would assume you would be close enough to know if she would appreciate that kind of joke or not, and if he saw she wasn't feeling it he would know how to read the room and apologize.
I agree that the joke was tame and Will was 100% in the wrong, but mostly because he did that at a public event and because Jada is a public figure. Had Will seen Chris backstage nobody would have a problem with it, if they even knew it happened. Or if Chris had said something about Denzel or Samuel L.'s wives, a slap would have been light.
