It's been 2 days and I can't lie. It did feel like a staged bit especially with Chris smiling after the slap. Look, Will is human. This was a human moment for him. He had a breaking point on National TV. He's always had to play "Mr. Nice Guy" even did a song about it. Those days seem to be over. Props to Denzel to being there for him. But this incident made me realize and I've notice this a lot now, there are way to many grown men especially talking and gossiping about other Men's wives and marriages. People think sh#t sweet until someone checks you. I'm sorry anyone can be checked. Nobody is exempt. That's a huge no-no and this new generation with social media needed a wake up call concerning that behavior. I grew up in a time you never talk about another man's Wife or relationships. But Twitter fingers got everyone thinking they marriage counselors. Also why is everyone bringing up "Will should of did this to August". It's clear Jada and Will handled that behind the scenes. He was the one that blew it up airing it out private business. So they addressed it publically. Yes Will an Jada are public figures but it's their marriage.
Lastly F*ck the Oscars. They have a long history of racism and anti-blackness. Will is only the 5th Black Man to win Best Actor. That's racist within itself. There's never been a Black Director ever won Best Director including people like Spike till this day. This Oscar for Will was just a damn cherry on an already formed legendary cake. He has nothing to prove. He killed it in "King Richard" Too so the award was well deserved. Wither he got it or not he's still a Legendary Artist. And for White America clutching their pearls talking about "Violence is not the answer" Spare me. This is the United States. Everything in this Country was built of blood and violence. We have the highest gun violence in the world. The Hollywood system promotes violence and packages it for consumption. The News plays violence on a loop daily. Black Men, Women and Children have been murdered by the police on camera and played on a loops for years. Also this wasn't even the worst thing that ever happen. What about when Adrian Brody went on stage and kissed Halle without her permission? Isn't that Assault? All those White Actors and Actress were laughing it up and cheering him on while Halle was on stage mortified. Halle till this day was like "I didn't not appreciate that at all."
The Bottom line of this story is stay out of people relationships. And Yes Comedians can get touched. Michael Richards is lucky he didn't get ran up on for his "N###ER" tirade. This social media era got people twisted thinking they can say anything to anyone. Sorry, you can and "Will" get touched. Now this situation is slightly different because Chris is a comedian and I know he's knows Will and Jada. They've know each other for years. So I didn't really take it seriously when I saw it at first. Obviously Will and Jada have been clowned on before but I guess Will had enough. .Chris handled it maturely though. No he shouldn't of brawled with Will on the Stage. He took the L and kept it moving. That's called getting checked. Again people are not used to seeing that in real time. Also props to Chris for not calling Po Po on Will. That's how you keep in the family.
I know the jokes are flying because it was funny when you say it out loud (Hold on Will Smith smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars? What?). (I know some people think it was staged, I get it was out of character for Will and they have been struggling for ratings. This is the most talked about Oscars in a very long time seriously. I've seen nothing but wall to wall coverage of this story for 48 hours now.) This might be the wildest joint that happen on TV since the Janet joint. But this was not the "Worst Moment" in Oscar History. Stop. These same people gave Roman Polanski a Standing ovation while he was on ducking extradition for Child Abuse. As for Will, it wasn't the greatest moment. But it was interesting to see a human reaction in that setting. It was like f*ck the cameras and show. Also dudes should be careful fighting anyone and everyone for a woman. Now if you love her and she's your wife, fine but even then you have to pick and choose your battles. With that said, you disrespect someone's wife, you have to understand there can be consequences. Reminded me of cookouts back in the day when Uncles got to fighting for someone saying something out of pocket. They didn't even care Grandma was out there, lol. This will blow over. Will, Jada and Chris will be on Red Table probably. I also see Will having to take some "Anger Management Classes" or some type of Therapy. Chris will now have a sold-out tour with Kevin Hart. It's crazy because the "G.I. Jane" joke was corny too and it caused all this.
