I still can't believe people are taking this seriously like it wasn't pre planned.

The Oscar's have been seeing a decline in ratings.

There is an understanding that controversy and memes are the new way of promoting a product or event.

What other event have you ever seen where a guest is assaulted in front of everyone, then allowed to give a full speech afterwards and is allowed to stay for the whole thing? The Oscar's are an industry award recognizing your peers. That's like someone running up to a student getting handed their diploma on stage and hitting them and being allowed to sit back down like nothing happened.

Now people are going to remember how crazy this Oscar's was and the 'viral moments' and will be more likely to watch the next one to see another 'unscripted' crazy thing happen. Tag this post for next year. You'll see.
