That's Will Smith sitting front and center and walking on the stage not just any ole somebody off the street. Plus this year was like a living room setting not the full blown stage and audience like in years past. Why would Chris Rock work his ass off in comedy, television, and film over the past thirty plus years to agree to get bytch slapped in front of a worldwide audience? Nobody still watched the Oscars. This was all second hand "guess what happened at the Oscars" shyt. How are they going to 1 up this next year? An actor is going to get shot or stabbed live on stage? No doubt I'm sure they loving the buzz but I don't see no gain for either Rock or Will to do this for the Oscars.

It was staged. Intentionally done and both parties knew before it happened that it would happen so did the academy.

In comedy skits and routines when someone gets slapped, they never connect with the face. They always fake it so the hand is catching air. I'm at a complete loss as to why Chris Rock would willingly agree to get slapped in the face.

I questioned that too but it's will Smith walking up to Chris rock after a joke, Security probably thought nothing of it or thought it was something staged

We've seen other celebrities jump on stage before without security getting involved. I think the most famous example was kanye and Taylor swift, there was no security for that from what i remember and ye is a black man drunk off a bottle of Henny walking up to the whitest woman in america

Actually MTV even admitted that they wanted Kanye to go on stage and was hoping he would. Thats why one they didn't make him put down the bottle and two they let security not block him getting on stage.

Only when the blow back happened that they threw kanye under the bus. I myself believe that is what the Oscars is doing judging how the wind blows and if it blows up in their faces will throw Will under the bus and run him over twice with it.

my first viewing of the slap, i was kinda stunned and didnt know if it was real or not. now after seeing it with context and seeing the acceptance speech, this is just sad. what a broken man. once you're known as a cuck, you better just accept it. displays of machismo wont change anything, it wont even change the dynamics of his marriage. he was laughing until he saw her reaction. he didnt do that for manhood, he did that for an attempt at peace in his household. but it wont matter. she will always think about the tupacs and augusts in a certain light. will chose the wrong wife. simple as that. all that alchemy and self help shyt coming from them is pyschobabble. they will probably divorce soon.

2-3 decades of this guy pretending to be mr postive and not having to cuss or be negative to sell records or be successful and a corny Chris Rock joke is what sets him off.

This is really about him being insecure over being called soft his whole career, starting with rap, then hollywood and then the bullshyt with his wife. If Chris Rock is smart he'd be trying to cut a deal for a new stand up special and use this incident as part of the promo.
