sad to see him taken away early. :sadcam: really could've been the heir along with Len Bias to Bird/McHale/Parish, but tragedy struck twice which led to the fall of the Boston franchise for 2 decades.

never got to see him play obviously but people are saying he could've been as good as Jordan, if not better.

He was expected to insert youth and athleticism to an aging Celtics lineup and help the "Big Three" of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish win a few more titles in the 1980s.

Bias could have prolonged the careers of those Hall-of-Famers and then taken over as "The Man" and carried the C's to additional championships in the 1990s.

Cocaine a helluva drug :sadbron:

I remember as a youngin thinking he would make a clean comeback then had the heart attack :to: i think at practice playing pick up ball...I cant remember was he even cleared by doctors to resume ball before his death? I used to try and emulate his post game as a kid, die hard Pistons fan but dude was dope to me.

one of my neighbors growing up was a Celtic fan. I remember the day Reggie Lewis died we were playing ball in his driveway and his pops, who was from Boston, just walked outside like :to:

yeah a physician said that he had a benign fainting disorder and would eventually be able to play basketball "without limitation." But on July 27 is when he collapsed and died

Never really thought about it how the OP put it together as far as Boston losing two young promising players in a matter of several years.

I wish Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox the best with their heart conditions.

I feel sad for Reggie Lewis...he died because of something he couldnt control:to:

Len Bias, however, took his own life.

I feel sympathy for his family, but breh, you just got drafted #2 to the NBA....you celebrate in your dorm room by smoking a crack rock?

Granted, you didnt know you would overdose, but still....wtf?:wtf:

It's a shame that the Celtics lost Bias and Lewis within seven years of each other. Those two could have been similar to Jordan and Pippen on the wing and the Celtics probably would have never went through their down period in the 90's.
