Dude really brought 90's R&B with MJ's voice on True Colors. It's absolutely mind blowing.

Imagine if he makes a real savage track sounding like MJ.

shyt would really mess with people. At the end of the day, his pen game and knack for songwriting and song making in general with the ability to make a copy of MJ's voice makes his musical versatility something we haven't seen before. Like it or not, The Weeknd can make content and channel emotions MJ wouldn't touch in the studio.

Watching that interview on Beats 1 this dude is pretty bright and somebody on reddit mentioned seems very aware and cerebral. The fact that he understands the situation, pushes himself to get better and improve makes me believe one of his next albums will be his magnum opus and really blow the world away. This album already is incredible and made improvements from his last one.

Forreal dude. True Colors I can hear Donnell Jones and MJ there but sounds fresh - perfect R&B jam. Love the subject matter too, its perfect juxtaposed against Secrets, which is obviously about a promiscuous girl, here he is trying to open up with a chick. Dope shyt man. Love the project! As you said, I believe he will drop a classic album in the next few years (he already has one with HOB).

If you can hear MJ on True Colors, go listen to A Lonely Night.

After easing up on my prejudice for the pop lean and just letting the album play it's actually not that bad.
Favourites: Reminder, Six Feet Under, Sidewalkd
Dislikes: False Alarm, Stargirl interlude

Everything else sounds either good or great in the background.

The more i listen to it, the less im digging this for some reason. Been a fan since day one. But something is missing here. Dont know if its that raw emotion and dont get me wrong the music and bad at all. Just a weird lane for weeknd. Like i never imagined nikka doing this electro pop music, he shows his versatility here for sure. But sounds a little forced to me. Like nikka doesnt really want to make thys type of music and the throwbacks to old weeknd sound like he trying to hard. I dont see much replay value here.

Def the weekest of his albums. And dont even bring BBTM as his worst that album had tell your friends the hills often acquainted shameless as i am etc

Kissland is mad underrated that was dope af

And the trilogy is the trilogy nikka aint never reaching that level again. Im just glad i was there to witness greatness :wow:
