shyt is fire... nikkas gotta chill... OG fans know we gonna get that deal when the whole shyt drops. This nikka deserves to drop those "for the people" joints.... He supplied us wit the "trilogy" for crumbs. Let this nikka keep rising and doing his numbers.
Lies. This shyt is fireI'm really depressed over Weeknds change in direction. I'm hoping this is just to appease radio and get his pop money and the rest of the album is real Weeknd.
Weeknd is far more talented a singer than PND but right now I prefer PND musical direction right now.
I still have hope though. This is his cool pop song, OG Weeknd fans still gonna get our fix of that crack.
This is just a nice song.
I gather you've only listened to like 3 weeknd songs because this sounds nothing like 99% of his materialSounds like every other weeknd song.
The hills came out before can't feel my face.I would understand that if his "core" Weeknd material didn't sell as well as these crossover pop tracks, but that hasn't been the case.
Trilogy sold 500k off previously free mixtapes that were openly shared on his website. It ended up outselling Kissland by 2x.
The Hills went 7x plat while Can't Feel My Face went 5x plat. Also, remember Hills came back to #1 even after CFMF was released after.
All the numbers up to this point show his "core" material does better financially (which is all the label cares about), yet the record label still pushes for crossover tracks, duets, collabos.
I'm not stressin', album should be great, it just makes no sense why the record label keeps pushing this direction when it doesn't even make financial sense.

So you're on the what's hot train for everyone but the Weeknd?
Tracks dope and Weeknd>>>>PND.
You got it breh. His early shyt was my anthems(glad his new stuff got him to superstardom) when I was a young lowlife in highshool. Finally there was someone who I could listen to when I was on my skeez and complete the experience. You know, he's really a master at making vulgar pop music.
This shyt sounds like some extra high level pop shyt. Like the hook with the repeated (ha ha ha ha ha )
But then you look at the lyrics
"Main bytch outta your league too, ah
Side bytch outta your league too, ah"
Like some real baller stunting shyt
"Twenty racks a table, carved from ebony Cut that ivory into skinny pieces Then she clean it with her face man I love my baby"
Once again singing about bytches sniffing coke off expensive tables.
Singing about cars, girls, drugs, money, and it's wrapped in such a package that people won't even know what the fukk their singing about.
He's stayin true to his earlier work by still keeping up with them vulgar, dark ass lyrics.
It's just repackaged into a pop, easy listening, Friday night on the highway form.
It's genius. It's like if MJ had all those rhythms and cadences but just rapped about degenerate shyt.
We're lucky to have Abel
