Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
You def a cac

Because I enjoyed this album and don't agree with the folks that were only in tuned with his early music? Callowness remains undefeated here.

You can't be contrarian on this site because you'll be labeled a white man. That's fine. I've been here for over 20 years. I've heard it all and received all the slander. But I'll still let you hang out with me, lil fella.

Trill spill, i'm wearing a blazer to work today feeling fresh as hell bumping this album as we speak :ohlawd:

Can't tell me shiit right now. I feels so fukkin' good!

Dawn FM is a modern day classic pop record. The sequencing here alone makes it better than any thing on his trilogy/HOB.

Yeah, I get that... but it’s still going to have a R&B feel, bit more soul to his style. Even the way he delivers the vocals.
I didn't hear it in the beats or vocals. I some 80s R&B and Tory sound more like the pop, imo. Dawn FM had much more 80s R&B/House kinda feel while not coming off as a complete clone from that era.

Back in MIA
shyt is decent

Some songs are trash

Some are fire

He swung hard with this

He cant make the coked up abusive vampire music anymore

Which was his best

Party Next Door started to fill this genre gap. Not sure if PND fell off or if the genre was no longer interesting. Or maybe he tried to pivot to commercial music in the me too era.

I'm still bumping The Trilogy :yeshrug:.

I can't get into the shooting-everything-that-breathes ignant music but that soul-sucking-thot-fukking-not-sleeping-for-3-days-because-of-drugs type of ignant shyt is right up my alley. I have a few years of my life where I knew I had a serious job that I excelled at but don't remember any of it. :smugfavre: . Now that I'm old Abel takes me back to that shyt.

The only song I love on this so far is Out of Time :manny:

Im sure several will grow on me eventually. Out of time feels like something Michael Jackson would do.

Dude doesn't even have to try anymore. This feels like a bunch of throw-away tracks slapped together, and still adds up to an AOTY contender.

In this era, as long as you are brave enough to be "different" you are seen as a hero.

They're so desperate for something new, they'll take anything as a classic.

The more I listen to this album, the more I get bored of it.

There's not 1 catch song on this album.

I mean he was piggybacking on the Retro synth-wave sound that was already popping for years, but just did it to it's grandest stage with big time production sound. Casual pop listeners who never heard this typa shyt before will eat it up, but it's really nothing here after you spin it a couple times...

Only songs I like are best friends, take my breath and out of time. Hopefully next project he drops is much better.

Even pop fans don't really want to dip into the synthwave genre that deep. They'll fukk with a Blinding Lights, but not something this 80's synth heavy.

Hopefully he admits he misjudged the market. He's not going to spearhead an 80s underground vibe.

the trick has been played out

when it was fresh & new it hit harder

but bro can't hide behind production visuals & weird esoteric themes forever

vocals ain't like that & the songwriting ain't elevating

This synth style goes against his strengths of Harsh lyrics, clean vocals and dark tense music.

Weeknd is basically a male Lady Gaga now.
