he's done it again... back to back fantastic albums. loved this.

Gasoline
How Do I Make You Love Me
Take My Breathe
Sacrifice

that's how you start an album.

Out of Time is a great song, just a little too on the nose Michael after the Quincy interlude.
Here We Go...Again is good. Abel gives you an older Weeknd flow here.. he spitting.
Best Friend belongs on those mid Weeknd albums (BBTM/Starboy). the only real bad song.

Is There Someone Else ?
Starry Eyes
Don't Break My Heart
I Heard Your Married
Less Than Zero

what a run to the finish the album.

the transition from Is There Someone Else to Starry Eyed is flawless.

could have have did without the Wayne verse but it doesn't ruin the song.
people seem to think that song is about Arianna Grande (???)

favorites;

Gasoline
Sacrifice
Don't Break My Heart
Less Than Zero

the decision to work with OPN after Uncut Gems has just been an incredible decision by Abel.
they can be proud as hell of After Hours and now Dawn FM.

this album has been a culmination of what he's been working towards since he dipped his toes in on Can't Feel My Face
I think we're def getting something in a different lane next time around, especially with that outro from Jim.

Tory Lanez doesn’t have one original bone his body and people are really comparing him till to the weekend lol

This album is good.

imagine still wanting the weekend to make the same music he did in 2011
They’re comparing the tapes

It’s growing on me. Definitely a different type of sound.

Anyone who was listening to his Apple Music Radio Show Memento Mori will recognize a lot of the influences (besides the obvious MJ). Episode 1 especially.

Take My Breath Away has a lot of Afro funk influences. Just listen to Steve Monites Only You.

I went to that spot, in 2020, Gorgio Baldi, in LA, Pacific Palisades, where he and Angelinba Jolie were seen a few times. What a place. Not that I have any interest in the dating lives of celebs, it just came up when reading about the album.

I like this album but I think Tory's album is better. Sue me. :yeshrug:

Neither of these albums are truly "original" anyway

This shyt kinda light:francis: I know I'm never getting HoB Weekend ever again and i've made peace with that.

yeah I know that kinda mindset is gone forever it’s hard to gauge his new shyt having that old sound on your head that you want from Abel

but it is what it is he probably always dreamed of being a big pop star and doing stadium records

"Less than Zero" is on repeat. It just takes me back somewhere. I don't know what it reminds me of, but I just smile when I hear (feels good to listen to).

The album as a whole gets better towards the end. Only heard it a few times and have to listen too it more. The Weeknd and Nas are some of the few artist whose albums I will buy no matter what because I know there will be something on it I like.

Controversial opinion but switching his style to the synths and 80's sound was the best thing he did for his career. He was running that style into the ground by the time Kissland came out. After Hours had all the sounds including his old sound and new and made his best album. This new one is growing on me for sure.
I agree. If the weekend wouldn’t had switched up his style, he never would’ve became the global superstar he is now. He improved leaps and bounds as a singer also I think too many people are stuck in the Trilogy era because those mixtapes were the soundtrack to a lot of people lives that were discovering something new and fresh at the time.

That sound and style quickly got old once everyone started leeching on to it plus the Weekend had bigger aspirations of reaching the next level so he had to make songs that appealed to the masses.

I feel like he started hitting the sweet spot with the 80’s sound on After Hours and on Dawn FM he perfected it. Neither of these albums sound alike either.

I’ll rather go back and listen to his old shyt to relive that time period instead of wanting the weekend to recreate it again in 2022 in his 30’s…he has to evolve at some point.

I’m exhausted of the 80’s production. It’s why I liked the My Dear Melancholy so much after the first three albums. I’m not expecting Trilogy vibes, nor do I want it. I just want something new and this is more of the same. :ld:
