So since those snippets leaked and it's probably about a week away from a leak, I decided to make this thread. I went to the listening party and I made this note after everyone was asking me about it lol. Couldn't find it before but I recovered it this morning. Few things though, if I don't mention a snippet, I don't remember or know if it was on there, I had forgotten what most things sounded like by the time the album was done. I don't remember lyrics for ****. And what I say here is my interpretation, so don't get too excited/ discouraged by specifics. With that said, I think I did a decent job describing. So...
Real Life: starts off with guitar. Very abrupt start, no build up. More poppy than traditional Weeknd sound but not really a pop song (nothing like ICFMF)
Losers: thought this featured Kanye singing but it's just Labrynth...i personally thought this was produced by Kanye because of the pianos. Had an 808s vibe to me.
Tell Your Friends: coke lines. No Kanye verse. This version sounds bigger, smoother, yet hits harder than the snippet (was probably just because of the mixing or live interpretation of the sample)
Often: same, still dope
The Hills: same, great transition
Acquainted: it has the same melody (for the most part) as girls born in the 90s during the hook. Also some same lyrics, you'd definitely recognize it. Towards the end the percussive instruments from girls born in the 90s come in, they slow down then speed up (or vice versa) the a different version of girls born in the 90s begins (its short, Just a hook if I remember correctly).
Can't feel my face: transition worked nicely
Shameless: though this was the Ed Sheeran track. It had acoustic guitar and an electric guitar solo. He says I have no shame during the hook "not actually the word shameless"
Earned It: began differently, a more ambient beginning with some lyrics repeated, nothing too special. I feel like the ending may have been a little different too don't quote me on that specifically though...
In the Night: same as leak
As you Are: i thought the beat sounded like a 80s baby maker at the time. Don't get too hung up on that lol I tend to have strange interpretations sometimes. Really though this was not a stand out track imo. Wasn't bad but if it was left off it would've been whatever. Somebody on here will love it though.
Dark Times: exactly what you'd expect from an Ed Sheeran and Weeknd track with a tinge of blues. Darkish, with acoustic guitar Ed starts it off, they both have a hook.
Prisoner: Lana has the second verse, she does a great job as well as the outro (she does the classic Weeknd "moaning" )
Angel: didn't like this much at the beginning. Sounded very pop to me. Got better as the song went on. Has a hidden feature (small part, not a verse or anything).
