Grievous should have been used better, his character had potential. They made him so much more agile and more of a threat in the animated series(early 2000s). Obviously he could be allowed to do more with animated format rather than live action but still. They really showed the potential of his character's fighting style.

They really made him threatening and seem like someone you didn't want to run into, dude was taking out multiple Jedi with no problem.

Yeah, they just did him dirty in the movies. Dude would run through a squad of Jedi and laugh about it.

Would have been better if Maul lived for at least another movie.
Agreed. Just think of how much iller Episode 2 and 3 would of have been if you replace Dooku with Maul. Would of made the opening battle of Anakin/Obi wan vs Maul in Episode 3 a really good moment with Anakin bodying Maul...

He wasn't the main villain but the General Grievous transition from the Star Wars prequel tie-in cartoons to the films was brutal :mjcry:

He was unstoppable and had a unique fighting style in the toons yet in the film he's completely :flabbynsick: and coughing like he smokes 90 packs an hour:scust:

Bane went from being the mastermind and ultimate villain to being a pawn. He wasn't 'born of the dark', it was Talia. Took away from his perceived intelligence and what made him scary besides just the physical

It doesn't take away from his intelligence, his intelligence is irrefutable. Even if the overall plan was constructed by Talia, and that's a big if because such detail is left out of the film, he is obviously a capable and intelligent leader.

The problem is that it makes him a less compelling villain. Ra's was compelling as what Batman would be if he had no rules/limits. The Joker is compelling as Batman's antithesis and as an agent of chaos anxious to prove that society is just as depraved/amoral as he is.

Bane is a dope villain who's mad intelligent and a crazy fighter, but his big motivation for attacking Gotham is because Talia wanted to. Like, that's it. So if Talia never existed, Bane has no reason to attack Gotham.

Even Scarecrow/Falcone had more compelling motivations than Bane.

the thing with maul is that they overhyped him too much.

we were led to believe he was going to be the main villain, and possibly the vader of the new trilogy.

He didnt have to be the new Vader just a bad ass ruthless apprentice built up til Episode 3 with an epic death battle between him and Anakin. He already had the dope intro plus he killed qui gon so that would also drives anakin's turn to the darkside for wanting revenge
