The way I remember it, when NWA were in their prime Public Enemy was always bigger.

How'd your parents know that DOC didn't cuss?

its my mom's tape breh. I guess she didn't listen to grand finale tho.

my dad had no hand in that equation. I don't think my dad knew who DOC was until the movie. he fell out of rap after the run dmc era.

I posted 9 artists and u compared them to 2. You proved my point.

I agree with your point.

I was just saying, don't forget hammer & vanilla.

that's all.

The Land That Time Forgot
We think of NWA being bigger than Public Enemy in the late 80s more because of
how NWA's legacy has endured stronger than PEs the past 30 years -- not because
of what was happening at that moment in time.

Look at 2Pac. PE was called "The Black Panthers of Rap." Pac's mother WAS a Black Panther.

Yet, 2Pac later winds up not being schooled by Chuck D, but on Death Row which was a
satellite derivative of NWA/Ruthless.

PE did not mentor a new generation after it. There was no Snoop, Bone Thugs, Pac, Daz, Kurupt-like
movement of new talent coming from the PE camp. PEs influence mainly ended with PE.

Oh yeah, there was Flavor Of Love.

For better or worse, the NWA cultural legacy lives on to this day through movies, documentaries,
Ice Cube sports leagues, etc.
