Why is this in the unpopular opinion tho?
Most people don't understand him and thinks he's terrible.
If you think about it, Biggie wasn't that special as a rapper. I mean, he wasn't garbage at all, but his flow, storytelling and voice were mostly what carried him. But as far as crazy metaphors and similies and doing thing with words that make you go

People are quick to nitpick the thought of singer/songwriter/composer knowing good and damn well their favorite artists can't play a lick of music and never produced their own shyt. Writing lyrics =/= writing lyrics and composing/producing your own shyt without a team of in house producers.
Big Pun is lauded as great because he was a super fat latino with breath control. If Tony Sunshine spit them lyrics, he'd be Tony Sunshine the Washed Up Rapper right now.
African Americans have been taught and conditioned to be racially sensitive and blind as a backup to being oppressed. Having nothing but a extremely limited American history to draw on, we've become culturally ignorant and non-evolving as a race while drawing on no outside influences, preferring to defend the fact that we wallow around in our own filth like pigs in a sty.
