@Ed MOTHERfukkING G I don't think anyone would claim Woodson as the GOAT DB :patrice:

Reed is easily the best Safety I have ever seen play. The only person who could have usurped him was Sean Taylor :to:

That said, I'd listen to an argument for Charles Woodson as the best All-Around DB (safety and CB) to do it.

*sighs* Like I said on the pod, ST one of my faves to come out of that shyt factory in Coral Gables but y'all really overstate where his career could've ended up. Hell, going by the stats, Kerry Rhodes was on a higher trajectory since he had more tackles and equal INTs in his first four years as well. Great player but still

:what: You do know that Sean Taylor never finished his fourth season, right? He basically played three and a half.

At the time he died, he was arguably (not in my mind, but still) the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year that season. :stopitslime:

And don't change the fact Rhodes was right on par with him stat wise up until that point of their careers

I'm not saying that Rhodes wasn't good but ... look at it this way. Emmitt Smith is the NFL's all-time leading rusher and rushing touchdown scorer. But no one can convince me he was a better running back than Barry Sanders was, taking each player's apex form.

As a New England Patriot (2007-2012), Wes Welker caught more passes than any other player did during that timespan and had a legit statistical argument as the NFL's best receiver. That said, you couldn't convince me he was the best receiver on his own team (Randy Moss), let alone in the league at that time (Megatron, Brandon Marshall, etc.) taking each player's apex form.

I don't deny that Kerry Rhodes was a stat monster and one of the better safeties in the league at his peak. But at his apex, he was in no way, shape or form better than Sean Taylor at his apex.
