That's one thing I've learned. Corporations run this country and your average employee can't be missing work to go "fight for the cause".

Management don't give a flying care about that if you're making them look bad. Everyone is trying to feed their families and the hierarchical structure most companies are founded on make it tricky to do extracurriculars at the expense of the team.

I honestly think a Civil War would last about 1 week.

Things can go left very quick. Yes corporations run the country but they can do little to subdue civil unrest. And once you get past a certain point of civil unrest it tends to spiral very quickly. The elites will just bunker down in their gated fortresses while Americans slaughter each other. And if there are factions of the military fighting each other its a wrap.
And I wouldn't be surprised if billionaire elites eventually started organizing their own militia groups to fight for power and influence. Civil war in America would be exceptionally violent and protracted.
