At the end of the day when most of our *grandparents came to the country in the 1950's under the Nationality Act *they were legally British Citizens
So when our parents were born in the UK they were born as British Nationals up until the Immigration Act 1971 which changed this.
Also by this time, most commonwealth countries had already gained Independence so the citizens were no longer automatically British they were now legal migrants with the Right to Remain
Being born in this country since 1971 does not automatically make you British
This law changed again in 1988 I think stating to be British you must have a Parent or Grand Parent born in the UK prior to 1988
So there are different types of Migrants in this country that came for different reasons, ultimately the most vulnerable ones are being targeted because they are most likely undocumenrated and without status. But this is England so anyone different can get it up in those inbred areas.
