Just brought the Akai MPK249 about a month ago but... MIDI to me is like a ancient chinese script encoded in alien dialect.

I think some of us are too focused on the mixing and engineering side of things and don't focus enough on the beatmaking/composition side of things.

A lot of people got uninteresting/boring beats. But they sound prestine.

Does anyone know of any good video series on sound design and mixing?

Rob Papen has a great series on sound design using subtractive synthesis.
I need to go back to it but I learned a lot about what different types of waves are used for.

Can we revive The Coli's musical community ?
Or is there a place where the musicians of the coli congregate ?

I feel negative a lot about peoples content..."lofi" and just a whole bunch of appropriated bullshyt. people that really need to be doing something else completely besides music

but I never get on no dikkhead shyt in anybodys comments. mfs really need to learn tact and self control. especially if your shyt is trash anyway

Lo-Fi brings out the cism.
I try my best not to say some wild shyt but all kinds of Lo-Fi cats legit have no
respect for Hip-Hop and just like the music/aesthetic in a way that turns me off.

Especially because I've met cats in the online space who legit don't know shyt about
their forebears.

Nothing about the legends which preceded them.
