Jones’ selection has caused a backlash: two more experienced push athletes were passed over. “I should have been working harder on gaining Twitter followers than gaining muscle mass,” bobsledder Emily Azevedo, who along with teammate Katie Eberling was in contention for the spot given to Jones, told USA Today Sports. Jones has more than 375,000 Twitter followers; Azevedo has just over 2,000. Azevedo finished fifth in Vancouver; Eberling has been competing since 2011.

Unless Lolo really is the shyt at this bobsleding stuff, I'm not sure why she was selected over this girl that finished 5th. At least that's a proven competitor, I guess we'll see soon.

If you know her history and the history of media coverage in the Olympics then you know why she got so much attention. Every Olympics there is always one person that they focus on more than others.

It had nothing to do with race or racism. She was basically the female Bruce Jenner, and everyone would have routed for her to win regardless because of what happened the previous Olympics.
