It should be pointed out, and I said this in my original post, but Black American men are more apt to follow a Tariq than anyone else. This is why it’s a bad play for Dems to continuously talk women this, women that. Tariq and Trump are a lot alike, and men, while not saying it publicly, admire the men like Trump and Tariq. And, before anyone jumps on me, I’m not talking all Black men.

Karen Hunter pointed this out as well. Folks sleep on the coli TLR, and say things like the TLR isnt representative of Black America. I wouldn’t be so sure of that..
Wouldn't it be fair to say that the core followers of both fit roughly similar socio-economic backgrounds? taking race out of it.

I said throughout 2019, that fringe elements of youtube followers follow the " 'Murica" profile. Started hearing some of the same rhetoric from that that came out of that group. The ability to ignore lies and misteps from their leaders is cultlike.

I do wonder what the data is on how engaged black americans are in the political process. It has seemed like they are tired of the results and not the process itself.
Getting people to disengage from politics is the goal of some of the youtubers though. tariq specifically.

He posted a quick clip of Biden the other day with a deliberately misleading title. What kind of political engagement can you expect from an adult who would fall for that?
Creating generation of un-informed adults, laughing at jokes is going to be the end result of this stuff. I can't think of a group of people who can least afford to be un-informed in these times than Black people in America.

shyt is not funny.

Tariq hasn't been affecting black politics but for 3 going on 4 years. Black people from what I've seen have been disengaged from the process for awhile. They might vote for President, but that's it unfortunately. In the past 50 years, what does the data show concerning black engagement on federal, state, and local elections, census, going to town halls? I have a feeling that data is gonna show we haven't been very engaged in those areas.

Ferguson is 70% black and yet City Hall and the police department is 70% non-black. How much of that is racism and how much of that disengagement? If we need data, it's for situations like that.
