Have had a change of heart on keeping Lavine...while i still don't believe he's a 1A on a championship contender or worth that max contract ...i feel like we need to keep him just as an asset...team has too much talent at this point to be a bottom 5 team really contending for a elite draft pick ...but i do still have concerns that we may have a limited ceiling with Zach as our best player ...will be interesting to see what AKME does with guys like Porter/Lauri/Sato/Thad at the deadline

Agreed. Zach is a #2 on a title contender but those type of players get the max now.
..look at Middleton

We cant keep starting over and trading talent. No point trading him for a pick when you cant guarantee a top pick. Plus we will have him thru rest of his prime and if shyt goes sideways, we can still trade him later

Still need to find that #1 but Zach and PWill are a solid foundation

I'm more about making incremental improvements. Next year we need a vet pg and a better frontcourt, another 2 rotational wings bc Hutch ain't it. I'm looking to try and get to 40-45 wins next year

I guess the question is who can you sign that improves the team more
If he consistently drops 20ish someone will pay him and we'll have to decide to match like Zach

I dont know the right decision but if you keep him I guess you can still trade him down the line but it ruins cap flex

2021 FA class fell apart, someone gonna pay him assuming he continues to produce

Keeping Zach at max (35 ish million a year) + 16ish a year for Lauri would be committing upwards of 50 million a year between two guys that aren't 1A players ...not sure this is the most prudent team building philosophy and hope it doesn't lead us to treadmillville especially with all of our other extension coming up over the next few seasons ...kind of would be locking yourself into this roster moving forward

Yeah I got to think AK didn’t extend Lauri yet is a sign that they value their capspace moving forward. The plan even before AK was to have the ability to add a max deal in ‘21 even while being able to retain Zach Lauri Wendell Coby Pat. Which I think is possible. Problem being the 21 FA class isn’t what was hyped anymore. And plenty of teams have space. If they want to extend Lauri they also have to make a substantial FA signing because it would be our last opportunity to use capspace before extensions hit. I think a team will pay him 20M a year, Gallinari just got that

Non 1A guys get 30 mill plus now...that's just the market as it is

De Aaron Fox
Middleton
Conley
Just a few examples

In a fair market, Zach would get 28 mill but that's not how it is currently. Hes an allstar level guy this season and those types get 30 plus
40 mill and up are for legit superstsr/All NBA folk

300 murders a year
White in the starting lineup is not cutting it
Good teams are going to continue to expose our lack of pg play and being pretty soft in the front court. We can get away with the pg by committee on mediocre to bad teams. Teams like the lakers and Boston is going to pick it apart

This roster needs some tweaks. Our young players can't properly develop with our core playing out of position.

Pretty much repeating what everyone is saying but we need a PG
White has become a head case and it's because he has to play a role he struggling to adjust to. He needs to be a scorer with a green light especially when he has minutes with the 2nd unit. He is playing like he has lost all his confidence and its because he knows he is failing as a pg. But I can't be mad at him because it was a role he was never supposed to assume.

Stop trying to make Coby as starting PG a thing

It's obvious he's a 6th man scorer, why make him over extend his role

His terrible defense is killing us and he doesnt score enough to make up for it either
