Pat gonna be one of the better players in 3 yrs. I'm moderately optimistic....worst case he just a solid starter...

And anyone who expected playoffs is tripping.

This year is evaluating who gonna be here next year and picking a final direction for the next 5 years

To see how Lauri, Coby and WCJ look under decent coaching

Who in the draft was going to push us to the playoffs?

No one.

But Atlanta/Hornets will be taking our fight for the 8th and 9th seed.

We won't even see be in the playoff seeding game's

Hopefully we do better with the lottery pick next draft.

I don't give a fukk about making the playoffs this year as a sub .500 team just to get bounced in the first round ...that shyt is irrelevant to me ... this year is a pure showcasing...thats it thats all ... who are our building blocks ...who needs to be moved ...etc etc ... if we win games along that process thats just icing on the cake

The new system and coach is our big offseason acquisition.

Lauri could look so much better he'd look like a big signing.
Porter can actually stay healthy and look like another signing.
Zach could actually focus more on playmaking for his teammates and take another step forward to being a 1st option on a winning team.
Coby being used right in the starting line-up can having him looking the most improved player.
Patrick Williams can look like the best pick in the draft, if not, all rookie 1st team.

These things could really happen, and be a testament to the development program and a competitive coach.

I think the Pacers and the Magic are the only vulnerable teams in the east to be replaced for the playoffs - there is a huge gap that will require us having a bonafide and unquestioned, superstar or starS.

For those two slots, ATL has made a huge push - Washington is coming with Wall or Westbrook to go with Beal - Charlotte is making a push, but it's really dependent on how Ball turns out.

Then you have us.

I think it's an evaluation year too. I'm good if we make the playoffs, I'm good if we don't. I just want to see internal improvement and for our players to show their true color

It's like his go to move too ..he's extremely confident in it and he knocks them down with consistency... if he can do that on the next level it will unlock so much for his rim attack game ... I can see him coming on a Dribble Hand Off from Lauri or Carter and being a problem going downhill with force or pulling up midrange ...and if he can stretch that off the dribble shooting to 3 range it'll be ugly for nikkas ...but he's a long way away from that
His fluidity in the mid-range reminds me of Jaylen and Kawhi, that set shot is slow af, but after a couple of those pro run videos, I see why he got picked 4th in this draft

:lupe:

Nah I don't agree. We were all hoping LaMelo would fall to us, but I like the pick all things considered. He's a pick I think will pay off.

If we don't get injured too badly we will either just miss the playoffs or get 8th. Charlotte I believe is worse than us and won't be ready, Brooklyn got better obviously, so that leaves Washington and Orlando as the 2 teams that we are fighting for the 8th.

If LaVine is injured for anywhere from 10-20 games and/or traded at any point of the season consider us eliminated. But that might be good to be in the lottery atleast one more time.

I dont think its far of to believe low seed in the playoffs is the goal. Personally for me if we are not in that position its time to start selling off this core and find a new one. I wouldn't be surprised if AK sees it the same way. We have a roster full of lottery picks and lavine and lauri are supposed to be our core duo. With better coaching they need to show something otherwise can't blame bad coach and bad front office anymore. This core has had 3 coaches time to show something

But although I'm content with a more long term plan I'm sure there is a plan here with the 70 mill in cap space we could have next off season. So a low playoff seed good showing in a 1st rd exit and 70 mill in cap space is a great selling point for next off season. So yea I'm hoping for a 7th 8th seed. Nobody is coming to a bottom of the east team even with cap space unless its guys we have to overpay.
