Good thing he still can’t catch or maintain control of the ball while driving. Also still pauses 3 seconds to make a pass.

Like I said ... having a good plan and executing said plan are not one in the same ... you can make a correct decision that turns out bad because of course in life there are several variables that can change the equation ...assessing a decision purely on the end result without any context is something I generally don't participate in for that very reason .. for example if I choked on a sandwich it doesn't mean sandwich eating is inherently bad (and to keep it bulls centric) was drafting Rose over Westbrook a mistake since Rose career flamed out and we never even went to a championship? this is rhetorical of course understanding the context of what happened to Roses career but the point remains.. context matters ...if your beef is that the trade didn't get enough return ok that can be a conversation... if the beef is you simply didn't want Jimmy traded because you liked him and would have liked to build with him ok thats a convo ... but to take the fact that you don't think this will be a top 4 team as the primary reason really misses the mark and comes off as shallow without considering the impact of the decisions made post trade ...
either way like I said I believe that move was one of the best Gar/Pax executed during their entire tenure and Im glad they did it as it was logical considering the context of that teams circumstances... wish they didn't get to control things afterwards tho
oh ok ... i 100% agree with that ... the problem is we brought in a new regime and it looks like they wanted to make a splash move to "prove themselves" and while theres nothing wrong with that philosophy in general ...in our specific case it really makes you question their internal evaluation skills if they thought this was the time to go all in on a soon to be 31 year old centerI was just saying if we were planning to pull the plug on Butler, we should've kept the plug pulled, that was the complaint. By buying back into this core which we both have doubts about in terms of ceiling, it kind of negates the original sentiment that we needed get rid of him, IMO. If we were going to treadmill, there was no reason to not treadmill with Butler, was what I was saying. As it stands it feels like we did a lot of that legwork to accomplish the same ceiling.
I agree ... its a depressing situation but im just numb to the incompetence at this pointI overall agree with what you're saying in terms of what value we got back for Butler, we clearly got back good value, and it was the correct direction for the FO to take at the time, but with our new FO coming in and not buying in to that direction, it negated it all. Now we gotta look at Butler lead a team to the finals last year with a team that I feel has no particular gamebreaking talent and wonder if we could've done that with him instead. That's all.
