I'm bout done with this show

That second episode was so boring, I almost fell asleep.

The last 2 scenes were the only good part, but these characters are so dull it's almost impossible to watch.

I think the biggest problem with the show though is the main character. He just doesnt seem like the alcoholic type or the CDC person in charge type. He just seems so regular that nothing about him interests me. They should have gotten someone that looks and acts more the role to make this believable. Dude doesnt look like he's gotten drunk a day in his life. He seems more of a straight cut high school math teacher type. Straight bytch made if you ask me. Everyone is telling him how to do his job and throwing his input to the bushes and that tag a long bytch is so pointless. Is she a ghost?? cause no one even seems to acknowledge her and she just mumbles things to him.

Waste of a good pilot premise. fukk this show. I hope it gets cancelled.

I am liking this show well enough so far but I could live without delving so deep into the personal lives of any of these characters. They could spend all their time showing vampire attacks and old ass Walder Frey threatening to kill people and I would be cool.
Plus I don't understand why they have the lead actor wearing that fukked up wig. That shyt is distracting as hell.

finally watched the first 2 episodes...and I'm kinda on the fence with this one.

it has it's thrilling scenes, but for the most part it's boring as hell.

Ephram told the medical examiner to do them by himself cause he thought something was going on. Don't know who would agree to do that many autopsies by themselves tho.

He did try to make them stay and the lawyer broad whipped out the cell and called up the Secretary of Health or some shyt. It was that broad in the room when Eph yoked up his boss.

It pretty much is following the book. Can't remember if old dude got arrested in the book tho

he said breh owes him a favor so he called in that favor on the autopsies

Hmm i understand plot progression but some of these actions are just plain dumb.

1. What was especially funny was them saying they couldnt shut down the airlines b/c it was a billion dollar industry and they would cause crashes in the economy. 200 people dead on a plane except 4 and is super cold after just landing and nobody seems to care.

2. 1 guy wouldnt be examining 200 bodies
3.Found some strange type worms but they want to keep to themselves?
4. A Big Black blur lifts a big ass box like its nothing and they still dont tell anybody or show the tape?
5.Old man who clearly knows something is still sitting in a jail
6.Dead Girl returns home. They get a call from her father and they dont report it?

But good show overall

Del Toro finally explained the lead characters shytty wig.

FX’s The Strain is hair-raising — as in it raised questions about star Corey Stoll’s coiffure at a Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour panel on Monday in Beverly Hills.

While viewers are accustomed to seeing the actor sans tresses in projects like House of Cards and Law & Order: LA, Stoll’s Strain alter ego Dr. Ephraim Goodweather sports a wig.

“We have a long way to go, and if you know the [book trilogy which the TV series is based] or you know where it’s heading, we needed the character to have a change of look [in the future],” co-creator and co-author Guillermo del Toro explained. At some point down the line, Dr. Goodweather needs to “able to mix into the normal population without being seen.”


Added executive producer Carlton Cuse: “Our vision of this character has to move from point A to point B, and that was part of the conception of character.”

For his part, Stoll was “skeptical at first” about the look because he thought the producers were “trying to make me fit a mold of a particular kind of hero or TV actor,” he said. “But it was the opposite. It helped increase the eccentricity of the character. It functions as a mask.”
