TPM in my opnion has aged pretty well and isn't a bad film, rewatched it a few days ago (and I used to HATE it)They managed to make a worst film than TPM with the Last jedi

and Attack of the Clones has some piff moments, like when the Jedi are all fighting in that arena, I feel like in retrospect their was alot of unwarranted hate for these films

I might need to rewatch the prequels. For some damn reason I cannot remember Episode 2. I know I've seen it. Once in theaters and once on Spike TV but for some reason I cannot remember it.

Main problem with the prequels is they boring af. Lucas wrote some terrible scripps. Cgi looks like trash too especially 1 and 2.I might need to rewatch the prequels. Prequels were weak in many areas but they had more classic moments than these new films easily. Can't even think of one long lasting moment in these new films.
Basically the prequels had a lot of good ideas, but they were executed poorly. Like you said, Darth Maul>Kylo Ren but he was only in one movie and barely got any dialogue or backstory. They put absolutely zero effort into the character outside of his design, he was just there so the protagonists would have somebody to fight.
The sequels have higher quality writing, but some of the ideas themselves aren't great. For example the scene where Snoke dies was well done, I just don't like that Snoke died in the first place.

maul didn't need a back story or dialogue, that's what made his character cool, i say on youube they made him alive and his a brother, and all this other bullshyt that sounds like terrible fan fiction, that's the problem with star wars fans
they need an explanation for everything, Boba Fett did nothing in the original movies and was an iconic character didn't need a backstory he's a bounty hunter what else you need to know, making him the clone is retarded, and ruined the character
the prequels created plot holes, Darth Maul was the only thing good about the prequels and they could never top it. Three movies to turn Anakin to dark side and its still rushed. Star Wars films a long and barely anything happens in the movies
The sequels are even worst, two movies and nothing is known about anything, these are some of the worst movies made the prequels are better, at least they showed civilization in the galaxy, politics, etc zero interesting locations in the sequels, no quality villains, no explanation of how the empire survived being defeated
