In a lot of HBO shows, they let certain storylines simmer into another season. The payoff will be worth it though.

I always laugh at that scene where the Alan Sapisly, the seller of the hosue, stops in on his property and finds Tony sleeping on the floor like a bum...Alan's reaction is funny af...just like 'breh wtf are you doing here?'

Vito's fall was like the beginning of the end. At that point Tony lost his best earner...again. First it was Ralph, who was also a weirdo but kept the money rolling in. Then Vito stepped up and was very successful too. If he had managed to get to Atlantic City safely I think it could have changed a lot of things. After that Tony was left with a collection of guys who weren't great earners and NY had an easier shot at taking them out.
