Jamal Ginsberg the Hasidic Homeboy :dead:

I been waiting on someone to diss :heh: with that name for years

Also, Noah was the only boyfriend Meadow had that could've legit took their family to another level finance wise. Would've instantly made them more respected, could've got Chris' movie made too. Tony's racism fukked up the best thing they could've asked for :wow:Now Meadow stuck being a piece of shyt mob lawyer

Tony had the restaurant burned down so Artie would get the insurance money

Junior was gonna kill Little p*ssy Malanga in Artie's restaurant which would've killed his business so he burned it down so Junior didn't get to whack little p*ssy there.

Artie isn't part of the organization, he's high school friends with Tony and that's why tony doesn't just kill him because he's an actual long term friend

Yea...Artie & Tony's friendship diminishing is an affect of Tony's evilness becoming more evident as the show goes on. Tony guilts him many times throughout but ultimately Artie realizes Tony (and all of them) have been using him and aren't real friends.

Matush with a wired jaw: "I don't zink zey vike you lery much"

Jackie Aprile, Brendan, or Matt Bevalauqa, who is the dumbest of the three?

Def Jackie...he was in college, all he had to do was literally not get involved and he would've had a normal life...his sisters were (seemingly) fine.

Matt Drink Water had a series 7, they were on some scores w/ Chrissy...was an actual mob associate. He was just too impatient.

Branden just wouldn't listen...should've cleaned those storm gutters w/ Chris back in the day instead of smoking meth and OG Livia might not have given the green light on him. Also was a mob associate, albiet dumb.

Yes..."NY" in the show's terms means Lupertazzi Family (Johnny Sack, Carmine Lupertazzi), but also the braoder Five Families/Commission.

Comission at one point was the NYC Five Families + Chicago, Detroit and a couple others depending on the time period...by the 80s it became just the 5 NYC families as there wasn't really a reason for Chicago or the other families around the nation to be be involved. Nowadays, there likely isn't a Comission at all, as that's one big walking conspiracy. These days, the mob is much more compartmentalized. But you still see families working together...the "East Coast Enterprise" case from about 6-7 years ago was 3 or 4 of the 5 fams + philly, all working together on schemes up & down the eastern seaboard.

Are Cartels more powerful in their operations in the US than the Mob is?

As of now? Cartels have the longer money, supply chains from South America, and the manpower. The Mafia has been gutted and while some mainstays like loan sharking, money laundering, extortion, are their bread and butter, it is nowhere near as powerful or formidable as the Cartels.

Also many of the Mafia family heads are old, dead, or in prison, lack of leadership has effectively crippled them due to RICO laws...

Hard to say, but likely Cartels are more powerful, they're more violent, have hundres of thousands of gang members ready to do dirt...however, Cartels operate here much more silently than they do in mexico, I think there's a ban on killing in the US... Also the cartel is likely in just about every major city in the US selling dope to US gangs. So in the US they're mostly doing wholesale drug operations, laundering money, and buying real estate.

The mob these days is in NYC, NJ, Philly, Florida, and in Chicago, Detroit, KC and maaaaaybe some spots are still active like Cleveland, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh.

In NYC I'd say the Five Families are likely the most powerful, wealthy and connected criminal organization. But in Chicago, the mob is like 95% legit, they control industries (construction like the one fukking scaffolding company that gets all the scaffolding jobs anytime there's construction in the city, wholesale food distribution, legal casinos, etc.). Cartel is definetly more powerful in Chicago due to the latin gang connections.

Overall I'd give the edge to the cartels due to the money they're making wholeselling dope. But Mob & Cartels work together more than they'd every beef w/ one another...And mostly they operate in different segments. Mob is more about union corruption, racketeering (corrupt business enterprises), gambling and loan sharking and the cartel at least in the US is mostly drugs and human trafficking.

Internationally the italian mafias, the albanians and cartels and/or south americans work together with one another...Chinese triads and russians are known to be the most sophisticated money launderers too. They don't care about who is more powerful b/c they each do things the others need so they all work together to make money.

EDIT:

If I'm not mistaken, FBI has stated that it considers the American Mafia to be the most powerful and influential within the US @Nero Christ
