Emotional is the wrong word. They're temperamental, volatile. That's what makes them so feared because they can be all friendly with you and next thing you know they want to shoot your brains out. The only thing that fukked The Sopranos up was that long lay off.

This, one thing that stands out is when theyre at the construction site and lil pauly makes an off color joke to one of the other guys and he hits him with a bottle over the head after they were all just joking and laughing.

I honestly never watched it because they very first scene I saw, they were talking about some guy name Vito sucking some guy off or some shyt. That was a bad first impression so I never watched the series. Same reason why I never got into Oz. later for all that homo shyt.
I might download season one and go from there though

The Sopranos is my favorite show ever. I could talk about it for days 
But I agree with the thread starter and I always thought that they all gossiped like a bunch of old ladies.
It was constant, a lot of them were also badmouthing each other behind their backs.
And they were petty as f*ck too.
This always cracked me up
Then Tony got pissed and pulled Blundetto to the side and said, I don't like ur f*cking jokes, stop f*cking calling me fat in front of the others.
A lot of them acted pretty insecure and b!tch made at times, specially considering that they are all gangsters and killers
