Most of us here are in our 20's (late 20's for me :flabbynsick:), but I finally caught a snake in the act at my job and wonder if anyone has had to deal with a supervisor or person in charge who does some foul shyt to those who are trying to come up?

So basically here is the deal. My supervisor at work is in their 50s and is always miserable. I had to check the desktop for a problem they could not fix last week and found something pretty interesting since it could have been a bug sent through email. Positions are often email blasted to supervisors/managers on site and then forwarded to the lower level grunts as myself at the moment, but I caught our supervisor cleaning out a good amount of those email blasts and not forwarding over the ones that would probably gain the most interest from the co-workers.

I was like :wow2: and HAD to take screenshots, save them and then forward my find over to corporate.

Should I have confronted directly or was snitching the right course of action? That shyt pissed me off to no end because our supervisor is CONSTANTLY worried about losing that position to the younger heads. There is now a meeting taking place next week. I have a feeling notifications are now going to be pushed over to everyone directly instead of just the supervisors after my interesting convo with corporate earlier today.

What is it with old folks these days though man? I am sure I am not the only one that has gone through this, but wondering if anyone else caught someone red handed like that? I understand job security, but that is a specific task given and only passing through positions that are out in the middle of nowhere in the interest level will probably be low is some snake shyt. I have a feeling that might bury them if its found that they were interested in those positions.

I find that old people are useless and don't deserve most of the positions that they get. They always whine and cry about , "working too many hours", "it's not fair", or "I have kids"

When I'm 50, I'll be damned if I let some kid work more hours than me. Old people should be the shinning example of hard work. Not the degenerate lazy butt holes that most Boomers are.

The boomer generation should just retire and let Gen Xer and Yers take over. They are the most lazy, self-serving, and unappreciative people in the history of human beings.

You did the right thing by snitching. Get that old fart out of that position and put someone who is younger and more innovative in there.

That's what is so crazy about it all to me. I've had some older folks at work throughout the years saying that kids spend so much money on BS these days and I just stand/sit there like...:what:

DUDE YOU ARE IN YOUR 50s and sometimes 60s and STILL need to work 40 hours a week to keep going and STILL complaining. You had 30-40+ years to figure things out and you have the nerve to say anything? :wtf:

Its time to let others eat now

You did the right thing.

The morality of the streets has no place in the corporate snake pit unless you plan on shanking cats in the hallways.

I worked in a snake pit for years at one of the companies Bob Johnson started after the BET sale. In the 3+ years that I was there I watched people scheme and snake their way to success on a daily basis. After seeing that, I'm willing to bet that every workplace is filled with these b*stards. Especially if theres a company thats had a lot of staff turnover. Its usually not the righteous who are walking out.

Well since corporate isn't mad at you, and you haven't been fired yet, I think you're good.

I thought this thread was going to be about the devil or cacs.

It's too bad they got rid of the other forum, I liked it.

Nah you did the right thing, people like that are obviously spending more time keeping people from taking his job rather than him doing his actual job.

They (most ive encountered) make a high salary and "delegate" ie they dont do shyt and make someone else do it and steal the shine. fukk em :pacspit:

its like they need an admin to schedule an appointment on their calendar to remind them to take a shyt. :beli:

Real talk. This older generation is spoiled to the absolute max. They are still on their 90's or early 2000's salary......the newer generation are accepting the SAME jobs at the SAME companies at a drastically reduced rate........especially government jobs. Most of the time these geezers didn't even have to meet any real type of qualification.........where as now the same jobs require you to be trilingual, walk a tight rope, and know 10 complex software programs thoroughly by heart....where as Mr Geezer and Mrs Geezer can barely send an e-mail from their company Blackberry.....yet some retard HR airhead girl is questioning whether or not you know how to use Microsoft Access while simultaneously throwing out the resumes of qualified hard working people who don't have "key words" on their resume.

Here's a hint hoe.......how about actually READING the resume instead of looking for "key words"..how about actually trying to see if this person can apply what they have done to this potential job? The truth of the matter is.....almost anyone with half a brain can do almost any job out there, all it takes is a month or so of shadowing/training and your'e good to go.

I used to walk into interviews OOZING with machismo, muscular chiseled body in a customized dress shirt, relaxed...well spoken, yet with a spark in my eye. Then I quickly realized how this is NOT what they are looking for........ they want somebody who dumbs it down a tad, and you also have to turn down your own ambition thermostat...or else be seen as a threat, and watch lesser men get hired. It's better to play dumb, and not too sharp at the start........and then once you are in..take it slow for the first cpl months.......then BOOM, turn it up.

Catch mofos sleeping, and they will all be like :dwillhuh:

Sorry........end of rant.

It's simple.

The older generation still remembers an era when you could find a 9-5 job that paid you enough money to buy a house AND start a family while still allowing a "work-life" balance. Those jobs don't exist for us anymore. We're literally competing against the entire world as are our employers. The older generation is unacquainted with that concept, so they whine and complain about the increased workload the economy has dumped in their lap.

As to the whole "snakes at work" conversation, I'm a little ambivalent about what you did. As a general rule, you shouldn't go over your boss's head to take him on unless you're SURE you can win or escape detection. If your boss or even a jealous co-worker finds out you ratted, your world will be fukked up in a hurry.

In general, the ones who succeed at work are the strong, silent types. Don't be the funny guy or the loud guy or the party guy in the office. Take the initiative, do as much work as you can, be social and like-able, but don't run your mouth and make sure you aren't offensive to people. If you see someone isolating themselves through stupid political behavior, cut them down with the rest of the pack, making sure you aren't stepping on anyone's toes. Be the guy that anyone can go to with their problems. Then, after biding your time and building your connections, strike HARD when the opportunity presents itself. People will be :leon:
