Lakers spokesman John Black said Mitch Kupchak believes Wes Johnson could become Trevor Ariza, Michael Cooper type player

:whoa:

Tervor Ariza has NEVER shown himself to be an elite defensive player. Michael Cooper was one of the best defensive players of his era.

Wes Johnson needs to show himself to be more than decent before we start saying shyt like this. Looks like Black is trying to hype him up to excite less knowledgeable fans.

When the Game Freeza was here, he was well on his way to becoming a very good defender under Rambis and his defensive schemes. He never quite seemed to be consistent on the defensive end since he left.

Maybe Wes can thrive under Rambis as well, he has the physical tools to excel on the defensive end.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com heard that free agent Lamar Odom had a productive conversation with Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak which could be the first step towards repairing that relationship. There hasn't been any word recently, however, but the Lakers and Clippers remain interested.

Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times
wonders if the Sixers could help the Lakers get out from under their luxury tax problems. If Philly doesn't have grand plans for their considerable amount of cap space, they could be convinced to take Steve Blake ($4MM) and Jordan Hill ($3.5MM) if they are given enough draft considerations and cash to make it worthwhile.

Steve Blake is expendable now since we have Farmar back.

I dont want to trade Jordan Hill though. We need him.

If Hill and Blake are getting traded, Ariza better be coming back. No salary dumps.

:childplease: You do realize he's played for Rambis already right?

and tried to make him a SHOOTING GUARD.

Rambis as a defensive mind.... SUCKS. All he does is copycat Phil and hoping that it works. His idea of defense is refusing to defend the 3 point line.

No wonder D'antoni has him on the staff

Laker fans have hit rock bottom, nikkas expecting Rambis to turn around their defense. This shyt is beyond comical.
