They scored 145 pts. That alone is reason enough for this guy to go
Mitch is better than Sam Presti, Pat Riley and R.C Buford? Mitch is not even top 5.The best in the Biz...if only Jimbo let him fully do is job
No they're not.No but the Lakers are trading their pick to make Kobe happy so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Hmm, it's more like "Adam Silver", the commissioner of the NBA, is still trying to find a way to get the Lakers into the playoffs.shyt was The refs are still trying to find a way to get the Lakers into the playoffs this year

When it comes to trades he's better than those GMs. Drafting not so much. Pau Gasol and CP3 and smaller trades like the one for Ariza for wack azz Brian Cook. He's Top 5 for sure...the front office(Jimbo) as a whole is not. We'll see if he can con't to be a good to great GM.Mitch is better than Sam Presti, Pat Riley and R.C Buford? Mitch is not even top 5.
The Lakers were on a short list of teams that Gasol, CP3 and Dwight were willing to be traded to. If I remember correctly Paul only wanted to be traded to the Knicks, Lakers or Clippers. Location is a huge advantage Mitch has over other GMs and he had an owner that was always willing to go over the cap. That should not be overlooked. Chris Paul was never a Laker. So Mitch shouldn't even get credit for a trade that wasn't even completed. When it comes to trades he's better than those GMs. Drafting not so much. Mitch help take the Lakers from the abyss in the mid 00s to 2 chips because of his moves. Cats were sh!ttin on him back then and he came through. We'll see if he can do it again. I just worry about Jimbo getting in the way now that his pops is gone. The Lakers were on a short list of teams that Gasol, CP3 and Dwight were willing to be traded to. Ariza trade in 07 was a good move, but these other GMs consistently made great moves by drafting well, signing good FAs and making good trades.
I would also put Masai Ujiri and Daryl Morey over Mitch.
And who put them there?Mitch help take the Lakers from the abyss in the mid 00s to 2 chips because of his moves. Cats were sh!ttin on him back then and he came through. We'll see if he can do it again. I just worry about Jimbo getting in the way now that his pops is gone.
Mitch didn't start off on the right foot and everyone ran him through the ringer(rightfully so) when he took over for Jerry West. After Shaq was traded he quickly put a championship team together w/o EVER having a high draft pick until this year. You call Mitch overrated all you want and can jock these other ringless GMs but Mitch help bring chips to L.A. and that's all us Laker fans can ask for. We'll see if he can still do it or will he become a Joe Dumars. And who put them there?
Jerry West built a great foundation from 96-99 and Mitch ran that team into the ground by surrounding Shaq and Kobe with garbage. Then had the best player in the league for 3 years and struggled to build a playoff team. Lets be honest the Lakers had no business being in the Playoffs in 06 or 07. The Gasol deal was a good move, but he wouldn't even had done it if Drew didn't go down with an injury and if Kobe hadn't demanded a trade.
Mitch is overrated as fukk and he has the perfect scapegoat in Jim Buss. So he'll never get called out for anything in LA. Every good move the Lakers make, Mitch will get all the credit and every bad move they make, Jim Buss will get all the blame.
Those teams were built around Kobe and he hid a lot of flaws those rosters had. Mitch had nothing to do with Kobe being a Laker. Give half of the GMs in the league a top 2 player in his prime and they'll be competing for a championship too if they aren't a complete idiot.Mitch didn't start off on the right foot and everyone ran him through the ringer(rightfully so) when he took over for Jerry West. Mitch made it so that they just don't compete for a chip. Damn give the man some credit. Those teams were built around Kobe and he hid a lot of flaws those rosters had. Yeah the Luke contract was bad but Ariza's agent is the reason he is not on the team. Mitch is more than decent but he has to prove himself all over again. That's the life of a GM.Mitch is a decent GM just seems a little stuck in his ways like there is no reason Ariza shouldn't still be on the team and Luke Walton shouldn't have got that contract. Besides that he's been serviceable
