Norfeast groovin…
for all my tanking brehs, wouldnt you want our team to win a few in a row and see tradeable assets ball so we can get some picks for them? im thinking blake, meeks, kaman, gasol. if that happens, once we trade all those guys we will be just as horrible once again, but with a few picks

I'd rather they just play stellar in defeat. Two birds with one stone. I know it's weird, but the future of this franchise, and honestly Kobe's chances at one last ring, are completely tied to this tank. No matter what, we need a new superstar we've reached that crossroads all great Laker eras did. :manny: Kobe is in the twilight of his career and has no business carrying the team at this point, not to say he can't but he's taken a lot of damage cuz of this front office's lowkey idiocy and this team can't contend with Kobe as the focal point imo. Our last two titles were pretty fortunate considering how much of Kobe's prime was wasted. So some of us would like to see a new superstar drafted to carry the franchise moving forward right now while Kobe can still come back and be an important contributor rather than grasp on false hopes of some middle of the road struggle playoff seed and run Kobe into the ground more. Kobe's time would be shortened and wasted and the franchise will still have to enter the tank wars regardless. Can't put all the eggs in free agency, and trading for players is dead, Mitch needs to stop the wheelin and dealin and high stakes hardball negotiations and take the draft seriously for once and learn from his mistakes. He can set his mark for once rather than inheriting players from Logo.

So by tanking now, we put ourselves in position to secure our future with one of the great prospects in the Top 3, with what cap space we have we can sign one of those free agents to cover our present, and with a re-signed bench and replenished roster through the draft Kobe can gracefully play out his days like Tim Duncan is able to thanks to a much better front office and staff. A lot of the traditional tank franchises are extra thirsty for the top 3, so right now we can't be doin stupid shyt like droppin losses when those are veteran tanks we're dealing with. GOAT franchise gotta navigate the NBA underworld in order to rise up with a new franchise player post Kobe.

The Lakers, Bulls and Bobcats are among the teams who are planning to target Lance Stephenson in free agency this summer, according to Sean Deveney of The Sporting News. Deveney hears from a GM who expects Stephenson to draw offers with an eight-figure starting salary. Other NBA executives pegged his annual value at between $7-9MM in December, but his continued strong play this season may be boosting his value.
:ehh: I like Stephenson, but he wouldn't fit on this Lakers team with Kobe at the 2 already. Pacers will re-sign him for sure.
The Pacers would like to trade for a player who can help boost their bench scoring, tweets Bleacher Report’s Jared Zwerling. The team’s regular starters score 106.4 points per 100 possessions, according to NBA.com, a rate that would be tied with the Suns for the league’s eighth-best offense. Overall, Indiana scores just 102.3 points per 100 possessions, which puts them 18th.

It’ll be doubly tough for Pacers president Larry Bird to pull off a deal, since the team doesn’t have a first-round pick to trade. Bird dealt the team’s 2014 first-round pick to Phoenix in the Luis Scola deal this summer, and the Pacers can’t trade any of their other first-rounders because of the Ted Stepien Rule.
:beli: Lakers better be calling up Bird and offering Blake and everyone on the team.

The salaries don't match. Unless you want to take on players with multiple years left on their deals.

:ehh: If they are offering their young players who are cheap like Solomon Hill, Orlando Johnson, etc. I wouldn't mind bringing them in, but if they were to do a trade, there would have to be a 3rd team in the deal. But, knowing the Lakers love affair with Bagel, they are going to re-sign him in the offseason.

:banderas: There is no way we can win this game. Nash, Blake, Wes, Caclly, & Sacre starting. If they somehow win, :demonic: things will be happening ASAP!! As long as we continue losing 10+ games and get one win and than continue another long losing streak, we should be able to still be in contention for the 3rd spot in the draft. :rudy: The fukking Celtics are also targeting Exum as well in the draft supposedly too.
