I think Shai is going to get the MVP this year. He had the most steady and consistent improvement of any guard I've seen. He does everything well and some people say it looks like he's not trying but it's more so he has such high basketball IQ it looks effortless.

“Force”? Do you see what Joker is doing? I think SGA will be the MVP but if Joker gets it he’ll deserve it. Certainly won’t be no damn robbery.
What is jokic doing on the defensive end?

Its wild how these nerds/cacs completely ignore one side of the floor when it comes to guys like Nash, dirk, jokic, luka and Curry.

Better Athlete no doubt.

That “ruthless shyt is subjective though. Just because a nikka snarled a lot doesn’t necessarily make him more ruthless. That’s the shyt they used to say to prop Westbrook only for him to turn into a mute when he would shyt the bed.

Let’s see how Shai actually does in big games before we determine his “ruthlessness”

And as for being “far move skilled”

Shai has so many moves and counters with god tier footwork that it’s hard to say. The level he’s on puts him up there in MJ/Kobe/Kyrie territory already.

Aside from Kobe being a more naturally gifted/talented player how are his skills superior?

Performative edginess has ruined people's perspective of what trying hard and really wanting to win looks like.

Folks tried to say LeBron isn't a killer for years cuz he wasn't grumpy like Kobe and MJ :pachaha:

But when he did become a killer he still wasn't doing it the way MJ and Kobe did. You don't have to mean mug and growl and have no friends in the league to be competitively fierce.

What’s a killer. Cause we also got plenty of tape before that finals where he could be viewed as a “killer”

I love that he rarely if ever takes bad shots. He's the one guy who could shoot it 25 times a game a it wouldn't be one complaint whatsoever. But it's enough talent on the Thunder that he has the luxury of not needing to.
He's played like this for 4 seasons now dont think talent really has anything to do with how he plays. He always have talent smart shots and worked from the mid range

Wherever nikkas need to be told on

Pretty good defensive rebounding and because of his ability to handle the ball this can translate into easy scoring opportunities off misses or at least get the team into its offense pretty quickly

Can get you a steal and a block here and there, sometimes in clutch situations

Frustrates me because he doesn’t regularly contest shots that are contestable which seems to be an effort issue—if you have a big who can face up, the mid-range is consistently available

Generally is just poor around rim protection so can be vulnerable to teams that penetrate and attack the rim

Lateral movement isn’t very good and sometimes his positioning is pretty shoddy too which is unfortunate because he has a big body and can use to his advantage

On occasion, I’ve seen him make the effort to get over screens but I think he’s vulnerable in pick and roll situations as well

Excels at kicking the ball (I’m not kidding) which can be disruptive to the offensive flow of the other team

Make no mistake about it, he’s not a great defender but he has the ability to make smart plays on defense

Key for him is not to be a complete sieve and to defend without fouling because he would do way more harm being more aggressive and fouling and ending up on the bench for long periods of time because we all know the non-Jokic minutes can get ugly for the Nuggets

I also sometimes think he doesn’t make as great an effort on defense to conserve energy on the other side where he excels so maybe it’s a team strategy around him not trying to do too much defensively

Overall, I think his deficiencies on defense are overstated and ignore the transcendental playmaker and overall force he is which allows him to impact winning and to be among the greats of today’s game

My post was referring to the amount of talent OKC has as a team which means he doesn't have to shoot it more then the 20 times a night that he does. But HIS talent and shot selection means he COULD feasbily take more and it not be an issue.
